Is it just us, or were the Grammys actually great this year? The fashion, performances, and tearjerking speeches. This year certainly felt like a better experience for viewers at home, and those rumors of cheating were temporarily put to rest. Let’s walk through some of the biggest and most rewarding moments of the evening!

Starting with the premiere ceremony, we must talk about Tems. Everything Tems does, we love to see. She accepted her award in custom Robert Wun – simply divine. This is the second time the artist has worn the Designer, the first was her Met Gala debut in 2024.

She won her second Grammy for Best African Music Performance for the Love Me Jeje Music Video, a love letter to Lagos, Nigeria. Tems wasn’t the only former award winner to rack up again during the premiere ceremony. Samara Joy took home Best Jazz Performance and Best Jazz Vocal Album, Jon Batiste took home Best Music Film and Best Song Written for Visual Media, and Tony Succar for Best Latin Tropical Album.

The perfect start to the Grammy’s, and enough time to allow stars to walk the red carpet and get seated for the second awards ceremony. Some of our favorite looks include Cardi B in custom Roberto Cavalli, Doechii in three custom Thom Browne looks, Glorilla in Lena Berisha, Shaboozey in custom Diesel, Kendrick Lamar in a Canadian Tuxedo by Maison Margiela (lol),  and of course Beyoncé in custom Schiaparelli. The ceremony opened with a heartfelt performance by Dawes, John Legend, Brad Paisley, Sheryl Crow, Brittany Howard, and St. Vincent – a rendition of Randy Newman’s I Love L.A. was performed. Throughout the ceremony, the host, Trevor Noah, and the presenters reminded audience members of the donation link provided. While we appreciate the opportunity to provide support to communities affected by the LA fires, the idea of solely asking everyday citizens when you're in the room with multi-millionaires… feels a tad tone-deaf.

Outside of this the ceremony felt like a true reflection of what we wanted to see. Shaboozey performed A Bar Song (Tipsy) one of the many songs that defined summer 2024, Raye performed Oscar Winning Tears and brought every bit of new age jazz and soul to the Grammy’s, Shakira performed songs from her album "Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran" which won Best Latin Pop Album, and we could never forget the star-studded Quincy Jones tribute that included a performance from Stevie Wonder.

The night also offered plenty of meme-worthy moments, like Beyonce being completely stunned at winning Best Country Album, and the crowd singing A-Minorrrrrr while Kendrick Lamar took the stage to accept one of many awards for Not Like Us.

And yes of course the speeches! Doechii’s performance brought everyone to their feet, proving once again that she deserved to win Best Rap Album. Becoming only the third woman to win the title behind Lauryn Hill and Cardi B. In her speech, she championed being unapologetically yourself and unapologetically Black. Alicia Keys also championed for black women during her speech. While being honored with the Dr. Dre Global Impact Award. She said everything we’ve all been screaming from the rooftops, especially black women. In her short time on stage she discussed DEI, diversity in the music industry, and the recognition female producers deserve. Producers like herself, Missy Elliot, Solange and so many more. Kendrick Lamar dedicated his wins to the city of LA, specifically black cities that were affected by the recent fires. Lastly, Shakira dedicated her award to immigrants in the United States, midst protests and Donald Trump's ICE raids across the nation.

Before we knew it, Album of the Year was being announced. After years of being snubbed by the Recording Academy, Beyoncé finally took home Album of the Year for Cowboy Carter. An emotional moment for thee artist, fans, and artists across the room who watched the artist accept the reward.
