For The Lovers. Black love - in all facets and ways it can come. Queer love. Lesbian love. Gay love. We don’t see Black love properly represented in media enough. Growing up if it wasn’t for networks like BET, and movies my older sister and cousins watched I'm not sure what level of exposure I would’ve had to Black love. I'm thankful for that experience, and I'm thankful that I'm now able to have access to explore Black love through various outlets. Shows like Harlem on Prime (R.I.P. because the last season just aired) and—movies like Pure, Moonlight, and Sylvia’s Love.

Representation isn’t the only part that matters though, all of us need to experience the love we desire. Love that feels deeply passionate, romance and exploration, soft and delicate to the touch, and personally I want A Sunday Kind Of Love. Love that respects boundaries but knows compromises. Love that will last this lifetime and the next. My hope is that you will find examples of Black Love throughout this issue that you resonate with. Black Love that either reflects your current love life or the love life you are manifesting.

Like every issue, this one is dedicated to us. Happy Black History Month Lovers.
