Supreme’s decision to tap Martin Rose to partner on a collection is one of the more exciting collaborations for the brand. Worn by various rappers and celebrities, including Kendrick Lamar and the U.S. Women’s National Soccer Team, Martine Rose is one of the hottest British brands. The designer’s inspiration is rooted in her British and Jamaican culture, as well as the UK club scene. Blending the three themes seamlessly to create menswear fashion you can sometimes only dream of. For example, in look 8 of her spring 2025 collection, the male model was dressed in fishnet socks, plaid shorts, and a cobalt blue leather jacket. This look alone touched on the club, upper-class traditional attire, and British streetwear.

When asked why she chose menswear on the podcast “The Run-Through with Vogue”, the designer stated “It just appealed to my own personal style a little bit more, probably. I mean, I think I didn’t think about it at the time but when I reflect on it because I get asked it a lot, I think maybe I just felt more comfortable with it. I’m not really like a sort of frocky, sort of like girly girl. And I also really enjoy the rules of menswear. You know, like that there are so many rules, with women she can do whatever you want. And that’s actually too much. There’s nothing to push against in a way, do you see what I mean? There’s no rules to break.” Another rule, Martine likes to see broken, is women in menswear. She’s stated before that women in menswear are sexy, and I couldn’t agree more. She plays with this idea throughout each of her collections, and this Supreme Collection is no different.

Another piece of Martine’s puzzle is playing with sportswear themes. She notoriously puts a spin on soccer jerseys, or even the Nike Shox mules that have become a global phenomenon. So if you were wondering why the designer partnered with Supreme, why not? The drop is Thursday, and everyone including myself is itching to get our hands on a few items. Both brands dropped curated photos on Instagram of various pieces styled on models. The range of this collection ensures a wholesome shopping experience for everyone. It includes a leather jacket and pants, reversible denim trucker jackets, puffers, soccer-inspired jerseys, velour tracksuit sets, cargo pants, sweaters, hoodies, t-shirts, Clarks original-designed shoes, suits, and accessories.

The designer has once again successfully woven her themes throughout this collection, even down to the styling of the hair and makeup on the models. However, she also has incorporated staples, like denim jackets also called “trucker jackets”. An inherently American jacket, that Martine has put her classic spin on. The rest of the collections have purposeful nodes to both American and British streetwear, while the color palette honors the designer’s Jamaican heritage.
